Electronic Signature Pads
Electronic signature pads are an increasingly-popular method for obtaining and storing signatures from your point-of-sale customer transactions. With this technology, called Electronic Signature and Receipt Capture (ERC), you can realize savings when dealing with lost receipts, chargeback retrievals, and storage costs.
Electronic signature pads consist of a touch-sensitive LCD display and an attached sylus that allows your customers to sign their name in "electronic ink" on the pad and to accept (or decline) the transaction. Electronic signatures are then encrypted and stored.
Electronic signature pads can be integrated with a credit card terminal or can be a stand-alone unit that connects to a credit card machine. Some models come with a USB port for connection to a wireless PDA, computer or other computerized POS terminal equipment.
